Q & A with HOMEWORK...When is homework due/ handed out?
Homework is handed out every Monday and is due back the following Friday, unless otherwise specified. Exceptions include: Public holiday/ long weekends, school events that require preparation and assignments. What do I do if I'm away on the day homework is handed out? It is your responsibility to go to the notice/reminders board and collect a spare homework sheet when you return to school. I will be putting the homework sheets online weekly as well so students are expected to hand in at least some homework if not all. What can I expect to get for homework? Each week you will be expected to: - read 20 minutes daily, recorded in your reading log - complete one maths mate sheet - other activities listed on your homework sheet |
What do I do if I can't complete my homework?
I will go through the homework tasks with you every Monday as I give the homework sheets out and this would be the time for you to ask me any questions. ** If you find the tasks challenging - ask your older siblings or someone in your family first or you can come and see me and I will clear it up for you. What do I do if I can't complete my homework because of family circumstances or other commitments? I do understand that you have other commitments outside of school settings and your lives at home can get busy. Please ask your caregiver or parent to write me a note or email me BEFORE the day that it is due. I will give out time extensions for you to complete your homework. What happens if I forget my homework or don't complete it? It is your responsibility to ensure you set aside the time each week to complete your homework or find out what to do if you are confused. If you forget your homework or it is incomplete you will be asked to stay in during one of your breaks and either a) complete your homework; or b) write a letter to remind yourself when homework is due. |
